A Blog is Born

Why a Dodger blog?  Why now?

I've dallied in blogging before, mostly about other hobbies of mine.  For the last couple of years I toyed with the idea of getting an official MLB blog.  But, the cost (though minimal) always kept me from pulling the trigger.  I happened to be cruising by mlb.com today and discovered that the cost is no longer an issue.  Free works for me.

In addition, I've sensed my Dodger passion re-emerging over the last few months.  It all started when I got a new ipod.  I bought Game 1 of the 1988 World Series for the ipod and watched it.  Oh, the memories it brought back.  Oh, how I loved the Dodgers as a kid.  And I followed them religiously up until Mike Piazza got traded and Bill Russell got fired.  For me, those two moves broke a link to the past and turned me off for about a decade.

But, I'm feeling some excitement again.  I'll admit that I'm woefully uneducated on the current Dodger squad.  I know who's on the team, but I don't have any strong feelings about them one way or the other.  So, that's another benefit of this blog.  I intend to use it as a means for me to fall back in love with my childhood team.

I very much look forward to becoming a Dodger Fan Reborn.
