Worst trade in Dodgers history?

I saw the headline "Worst trade in Dodgers history?" over on Fan Nation and immediately thought: "Oh, that's got to be Pedro Martinez for Delino DeShields".  Sure enough, that was the trade up for discussion.  It still makes me shake my head all these years later.

I was so excited when Ramon's little brother was burning up the minor leagues. I saw him pitch for Albuquerque once and he was awesome.  And then he was looking real good in his brief time in LA.  But, they needed a second baseman, I guess.  Ugh.  The Pedro trade and the Piazza trade still make me sad.

Welcome to MLBlogs!

As a Red Sox fan, I can tell you that I'm thrilled that trade happened, since it led to Pedro coming to Boston. #45 is still my all-time favorite player. I will never forget those days in the late 1990s at Fenway, with Pedro in his prime, fans chanting, Dominican flags waving, and the greatest pitcher I've ever seen dominating every team he faced. Amazing memories that I'll have forever.

Best of luck this year with the Dodgers. Boston's own Frank McCourt will work hard to bring the World series trophy to LA.
